
About This Role
What You'll Do as a Shift Manager at Zaxby's
You're in charge of making sure a shift runs right. That means you set goals for the shift, assign tasks, and keep an eye on how things are going. You'll make sure processes are followed and guests get what they need.
You'll train and coach team members to hit company standards. If someone isn't performing, you'll talk to them about it and communicate concerns to the General Manager. You'll create a high performance culture where people want to do their best.
When guests have complaints or concerns, you handle them in a friendly, respectful way. You'll resolve issues and make sure everyone leaves happy. You'll also build team morale by recognizing good work and leading by example.
You'll keep an eye on food production and quality. Monitor prepping, cooking, and holding processes. If something isn't right, take corrective action. Track food safety and quality throughout the shift. Make sure every order is accurate and meets company standards.
You'll handle truck deliveries when they arrive. Reconcile what comes in against the invoice, stock the product properly, and complete daily inventory counts. You'll plan opening and closing duties and make sure they get done.

- Ensure service, product quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld
- Receive and reconcile truck deliveries; stock product and complete daily inventory counts
- Manage food production by monitoring prepping, cooking, and holding processes
- Track food safety and quality throughout the shift
- Plan shift duties and ensure opening and closing duties are complete
- Collaborate with management to develop goals; report back on progress
- Follow company cash management policies
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines
- Use management tools and keep neat, accurate records
- Work safely and follow all safety guidelines and procedures
- Immediately report HR and risk management concerns to your General Manager and District Manager
- Escalate concerns to your supervisor when appropriate
- Complete all training requirements: Zaxby's Shift Leader Development Plan, Food Safety Certification, and any additional training required by Zax LLC
- Handle any other duties needed to keep the restaurant running properly
Pay and Schedule
Pay range is $15.00 to $17.00 per hour. You need to be available to work a minimum of 5 days per week, between 32 and 40 hours. Your schedule has to be flexible ; that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
What You Need to Qualify
You must be at least 18 years old. You need reliable transportation. You'll have to pass a background check.
You should show leadership qualities, organizational skills, and the ability to work cooperatively with others. Leadership experience is preferred but not required.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
You'll sit, stand, and walk continuously throughout the shift. Occasionally you'll stoop, bend, crouch, or climb, including using ladders. Frequently you'll lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including lifting overhead. You'll use your hands and wrists continuously for grasping and fine manipulation. You need to communicate proficiently through speech, reading, and writing. You must maintain good audio visual discrimination and perception to observe and respond to the environment.
You'll work in an environment with hot and cold temperature variations and exposure to food allergens. You'll operate restaurant equipment including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous equipment ; you need to work safely with all of it.
