
About This Role
Alright, let's get straight to it. We need someone to run a route in Charlotte, NC, picking up industrial waste from places like auto shops and oil change spots. It's a driving job, but it's also a sales job. You're the face of the service at each stop.
The Work
You'll manage your own route with a Class B vacuum truck. A typical day means visiting 10 to 12 customer sites. The schedule runs about 10 to 12 hours a day.
- Your main task is completing daily service pickups and deliveries on time.
- There's manual labor involved at every site; think running hoses, pumping out liquids, that kind of general labor to get the job done right.
- You own the primary relationship with the accounts on your route.
- A big part of this is sales. You'll generate leads from your customers for new services and sell additional products into their existing accounts.
- You're also expected to actively look for and sign up new accounts along your assigned route.
- All the required paperwork, documentation, and labeling has to be handled by you at the time of service.
- And of course, making sure the customer is satisfied before you leave is on you.
What You Need To Have (The Must Haves)
These aren't preferences; they're requirements to even get started.
- A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- The ability to obtain your Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within your first 90 days on the job.
- You have to be cool with using mobile devices for work.
- The job is both indoors and outdoors, in every kind of weather condition you can imagine.
- You must be able to perform all the physical functions of the job as required.
- A successful pre employment background check, drug test, and physical exam is mandatory for this position.
- Important note: This role requires use of a respirator. Per OSHA standards, that means you must be able to meet specific facial hair guidelines for a proper seal.
What Would Give You An Edge (The Nice To Haves)
If you've got some of this in your background, you'll likely hit the ground running faster.
- Previous commercial driving experience is a plus.
- Already have your Hazmat and Tanker endorsements? Even better.
- Any past experience specifically working with hazardous materials is valuable.
- Route driving experience is helpful for knowing the rhythm of the day.
- Can you drive a manual transmission?

The Details & What We Provide
The recruiting pay range for this role starts at $24 per hour.
