What You'll Be Doing

You'll take inbound calls from people in distress and provide medical instructions while they wait for paramedics. It's serious, emotionally charged work, and you'll be the calm voice someone needs in a scary moment. You'll gather information quickly and pass it along accurately so first responders have what they need before they even arrive.

This isn't your average customer service gig.

Who This Is For

This role is a good fit if you've got a background in emergency services or public safety. Military veterans are encouraged to apply. You'll need to stay composed under pressure, keep a high level of service going, and genuinely care about the people on the other end of the line.

• A college diploma or course completion in 911 Communications or Public Safety
• Completion of police, fire, or paramedic programs
• Certification through the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch ; this could be Emergency Medical Dispatch, Emergency Police Dispatch, Emergency Fire Dispatch, or CPR Certification
• Experience as an emergency service volunteer

The Pay and Benefits

The base pay for this role runs from $27.10 to $31.84 an hour. What you actually make depends on where you're located, your experience, your education, and a few other factors. Plus there are incentives tied to how you and the company perform.
