What You'll Actually Do as a Cook at Zaxby's

At Zaxby's in Charlotte, NC, the cook role is pretty straightforward. You're the person making sure every order goes out right, on time, and tasting like it should. That means you'll be working in the back of house ; receiving inventory, prepping ingredients, cooking and assembling menu items, and keeping everything clean and organized. You're not just cooking though; you're a big part of why guests have a good time when they visit.

You'll follow standard operating procedures for food safety and quality. And yeah, you'll wash dishes, stock stations, and keep storage areas tidy too. It's hands on work that keeps you moving.

The Training You'll Get

Zaxby's doesn't throw you in blind. You'll go through their Back of House Development Plan plus hands on training at each station. There might be additional training from Zax LLC too. Paid training, by the way ; so you're earning while you learn.

Day to Day Stuff

• Prepare menu items exactly to company standards ; safely and sanitarily
• Handle all food and beverages according to safety regulations
• Safely operate kitchen equipment like knives, fryers, and other cooking tools
• Keep product levels stocked in your assigned station so you're ready for rushes
• Cook food fresh as orders come in
• Assemble and package guest orders accurately
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard free
• Tell management when equipment needs maintenance or repair
• Help with inventory ; receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, holding food properly using food safety guidelines
• Let management know when supplies are running low
• Tidy up storage areas regularly
• Provide friendly service to every guest who walks in or drives through
• Know current promotions so you can answer questions naturally
• Represent the Zaxby's brand with enthusiasm ; even on busy nights
• Help with front of house tasks when needed (it happens)
• Tackle any extra duties that come up during your shift
• The golden rule here: work with a sense of urgency without cutting corners on safety.
