About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this Assistant Manager spot at Zaxby's in Charlotte, NC. I've been placing people in restaurant roles for over a decade, and I can tell you this isn't just a "fill the schedule" job. They're looking for someone who gets that it's about the experience; for the guests and the team. The pay range is $19 to $22 an hour.
What You'll Be Doing
You're running the day to day. That means making sure every shift hits the mark on service, food quality, and cleanliness. It's your show when you're on.
- You’ll finish all the required training: their Assistant Manager Development Plan, Food Safety and Manager Certifications, plus anything else they throw your way.
- Your main focus is making sure guests have a great time. That means coaching your team to not just meet expectations, but blow past them.
- Training your crew is a big part of it. Think ongoing coaching and helping people develop.
- Building the work schedule falls to you, following company rules and local laws.
- Planning out shift assignments, communicating what needs to get done, and adjusting as things come up is key.
- You're supervising, leading, and pushing the team to do their best work so you can hit those quarterly goals together.
- When there's a performance issue, you talk it through with the General Manager.
- You'll help with performance reviews and act as a mentor to help folks grow.
- A positive culture doesn't build itself. You'll create it through recognition and by setting the example yourself.
- Any complaints or concerns from guests or team members? You handle them promptly and respectfully.
- Keeping daily operations smooth means ensuring everyone follows processes and policies correctly.
- Staying compliant with all of Zaxby’s guidelines as well as federal, state, and local laws is non negotiable.
- You'll use their management tools and keep records accurate and up to date.
The Other Stuff
There's always more to do in a restaurant. You need a flexible attitude because sometimes you pitch in beyond this list. Make sure your team works safely and follows every safety guideline. If an HR or risk management issue pops up, you report it immediately to the GM and District Manager. For other concerns, you escalate them when needed. And honestly? You do whatever else it takes to keep things running right.
