About This Role

The Role

OPENLANE is looking for a Sales Manager for our Buffalo, NY market. This is an outside sales role where you'll drive business growth by acquiring, retaining, and expanding dealership relationships. You'll report to the Market Sales Director and work closely with dealer clients, sales teams, marketing, and senior management.

What You'll Actually Do

You'll spend your time out in the field, building real relationships with dealerships. Here's what that looks like day to day:

  • Identify, approach, and connect with dealerships to build your portfolio and grow the business
  • Cultivate strong relationships through regular visits, phone calls, and account performance reviews
  • Learn each dealer's business by asking questions, following up consistently, and understanding their real needs
  • Run targeted sales campaigns and product demonstrations
  • Solve problems for dealer clients using OPENLANE's primary and ancillary products and services
  • Use data analytics to spot market trends and sharpen your sales strategies

What You Need

We're not looking for theoretical experience. We need someone who's done this before.

  • 3 to 5+ years of outside sales or business development experience
  • Experience in automotive sales or a related industry
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort using CRM tools
  • You can clearly explain why a dealership should work with us and what makes it worth their time
  • You're willing to travel a lot ; roughly 75% of the time
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary for this role is between $70,000 and $75,000 depending on your experience, skills, and qualifications. On top of that, there's a bonus target ranging from $0 to $5,600 USD per month. Here's what else you get:
