About This Role
The Job in a Nutshell
Buffalo Center is looking for their next Director of Nursing. It's a leadership role inside a 200 bed skilled nursing facility, and if you've been running a nursing department or an entire unit in long term care for a couple of years, you likely know exactly what this job demands. We need someone who can walk the floor and the boardroom, manage clinical outcomes, and keep a team fully staffed and trained. If that sounds like your next move, keep reading.
What You'll Actually Do
- Run the nursing department day to day. That means policies, procedures, staffing, and making sure everyone's competencies are current.
- Handle recruiting, training, and retention of nursing staff. You'll build the team and then keep them.
- Monitor clinical outcomes and make sure everything we do meets compliance standards.
- Act as the bridge between residents, their families, and the rest of the healthcare providers involved in their care.
- Set the tone for how care is delivered. Dignity, respect, and compassion aren't buzzwords here ; they're the standard.
What You Need to Bring
- An active RN license in the state of New York. Non negotiable.
- At least five years of nursing experience, all of it in long term care.
- A minimum of two years in a nursing leadership or supervisory role. We want someone who's already managed a team.
- Strong clinical knowledge ; you won't just manage spreadsheets, you'll understand the care behind them.
- Real leadership skills and the ability to communicate and build a team that actually works together.
Schedule and Pay
The salary is competitive and based on your experience. They also offer Daily Pay through a third party provider, so you can access your earnings faster if you want. No more waiting two weeks for a check.
Benefits
- Premium health coverage through Aetna with low out of pocket costs. That's the kind of insurance that makes a difference.
- A comprehensive benefits package beyond just health coverage.
- Supportive leadership around you ; you won't be out there on your own.
- You'll be working in a respected 200 bed skilled nursing facility with a real sense of purpose.
