About This Role

What you'll be doing

You're stepping into a senior leadership role that runs the entire catering and special events operation at Fenway Park. This means you own the strategy, the execution, and the bottom line. You'll coordinate total catering operations from booking events to supervising teams, developing menus, pricing, hiring, and managing the department's administration.

You handle every part of preparation, service, and cleanup across multiple catering operations. You develop catering solutions that actually fit what customers need. Building strong rapport with clients is part of your daily work.

You create and roll out an annual marketing plan for catering. That includes sales strategies, collateral materials, and budgets. You set service and presentation standards for everything catering related, then make sure those standards stick through consistent processes. When there's a chance to grow base business or keep clients happy by introducing new services, you lead that charge.

Staying current on catering trends matters here ; you advise clients, customers, and staff on what's new. You facilitate delivery of food built from banquet event orders. You get involved in sales negotiations and contract discussions while helping clients plan their special events.

Training and leading your catering team is non negotiable ; everyone follows the standards you set. Sales targets, food costs, labor goals ; those are yours to hit. You execute events of all sizes including staffing and management decisions. And yes, there's accounting work: accurate reporting on revenue, expenses, and receivables tied to catering.

Food safety? Occupational safety? Environmental safety? You stay compliant with all relevant policies.

The qualifications we need from you

  • At least 5 to 7 years of experience in catering or event work
  • A minimum of 3 years managing people in a supervisory or management role
  • Previous experience specifically in events and catering
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication skills ; you talk with clients, vendors, staff regularly
  • Availability for event based hours; game days don't run nine to five
  • You must complete Food Handlers certification as required by local regulations
  • Alcohol Service certification is also required where applicable

The physical side of the job

This role can involve lifting things up (and down), bending over tables or coolers, pushing carts loaded with equipment or food trays onto elevators ; plus pulling doors open constantly during load in or breakdown shifts. Extended walking around concourses? Yes. Standing for long periods during event service? Absolutely. Uniforms may be required depending on location needs; Personal Protective Equipment usage will also apply when handling chemicals or operating kitchen machinery near hot surfaces.
