About This Role
The Role
This is a Dispatcher/Tower Coordinator position with Swissport at Boston, MA. You'll work alongside the Operations Manager to keep fueling operations running safely, on time, and efficiently. The job is basically the communication hub ; you're the person making sure airline operations and our fueling crews are on the same page.

What You'll Do
- Keep constant situational awareness of all airline and company fueling operations, policies, and procedures. You'll pass along updates to field leadership and fueling crews as things change.
- Stay in professional contact with airlines, airport operations, flight control, and the fueling department. Coordinate operational details as needed.
- Maintain a professional attitude and always follow the company uniform, dress, and conduct codes.
- Help develop operational and contingency plans to make the best use of company equipment and resources based on airline schedules.
- Work with company managers, supervisors, and airline personnel to solve operational problems and communicate solutions.
- Monitor tools like Flight Status Monitor, weather reports, and Air Traffic Control advisories (ground stops, delay programs, etc.) to figure out the best operational plans for fueling.
- Keep logs and documentation so you can anticipate problems, evaluate events after the fact, and submit accurate paperwork and reports on time.
- Write daily shift reports that capture any flight irregularities or delays from your shift.
- Complete a daily fueling delay recap ; list all delay codes and discuss them with airline operations.
- Coordinate the emergency and significant event notification system. Make sure the right company and airline officials get notified, and document everything.
- Be ready to help out with ramp and fueling operations when needed, which can be physical work.
What You Need
- 1 3 years of fueling operations experience is preferred.
- Prior airline experience is a plus.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- You're computer literate. You should either know Sabre and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) or be able to learn them quickly.
- Comfortable working in inclement weather.
- Either a High School Diploma plus a one year certificate from a university, college, or technical school ; or six months to one year of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience works too.
- You can read and understand safety, operational, and procedural manuals.
- You can write clear, concise reports and correspondence.
- You can speak effectively to groups ; airline customers, fueling company personnel, and the airport authority.
