What It's Like In This Role
You'll be at the center of the action. One day you're analyzing global freight data, the next you're presenting a risk mitigation plan to executives. Your team will include managers overseeing logistics, planning, and procurement; you'll guide their priorities but won't micromanage their daily tasks. Expect a mix of strategic meetings, financial reviews, and occasional fire drills when a shipment gets stuck. The workload is substantial but structured; it isn't a standard 9 to 5 when major projects are live.
Why You'll Like This Opportunity
The scope here gives you real influence over profitability and customer satisfaction. You won't be siloed; your decisions touch manufacturing, sales, and finance. There's clear potential for career growth within the organization as you demonstrate impact. Every quarter brings new challenges; no two problems are exactly alike; which keeps the work engaging for someone who likes solving complex puzzles.
Schedule & Work Type
This is a full time position. The role is primarily onsite in Birmingham, AL to facilitate collaboration with operations teams, though some hybrid flexibility may be possible after an initial period. Standard business hours apply, with the understanding that early morning or evening calls may be needed for international vendor coordination.
