Job Overview
This role is for a Psychiatric RN in the Baton Rouge, LA area. You'll provide direct nursing care to patients with mental health and substance use disorders, working within a multidisciplinary treatment team. Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric nursing assessments upon admission.

- Manage acute behavioral crises using de escalation techniques and approved protocols.
- Document all patient interactions, progress, and medication administration with precision.
- Facilitate therapeutic groups focused on coping skills, medication management, and wellness.
Requirements
- A current, unencumbered RN license for the state where Baton Rouge, LA is located.
- A minimum of one year of recent experience in an inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health setting.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification or equivalent training is required; often provided during orientation if not current.
- You need a clear understanding of psychopharmacology and common diagnostic criteria.
- The job involves prolonged standing, walking units, and the ability to safely respond to and assist with crisis situations.
