Job Overview

This role is for a Psychiatric RN in the Baton Rouge, LA area. You'll provide direct nursing care to patients with mental health and substance use disorders, working within a multidisciplinary treatment team. Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric nursing assessments upon admission.

• Manage acute behavioral crises using de escalation techniques and approved protocols.

Requirements

• A current, unencumbered RN license for the state where Baton Rouge, LA is located.
• A minimum of one year of recent experience in an inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health setting.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification or equivalent training is required; often provided during orientation if not current.
• You need a clear understanding of psychopharmacology and common diagnostic criteria.
• The job involves prolonged standing, walking units, and the ability to safely respond to and assist with crisis situations.
