Ultrasound Technologist

Hey there. I'm a recruiter at Ascension, and I've been doing this for over a decade. I'm looking for an Ultrasound Technologist to join the Imaging team at Saint Thomas West in Baltimore, MD. This is a PRN position with rotating shifts.

What you'll do

The work is technical and hands on. You'll perform complex diagnostic ultrasound exams, using your skill to get the clear images radiologists need for accurate diagnoses. That means identifying anatomical structures and potential issues in real time.

A big part of the job is making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. You'll validate image quality and patient history in our PACS system so the clinical review process is seamless. You're also responsible for keeping things safe and up to standard; that includes running quality control checks and maintaining the equipment.

And of course, it's about patient care. You'll help maintain a clean, organized, and comfortable clinical space for patients while supporting an efficient workflow for the department.

What you need to bring

• You must have a high school diploma or GED plus 2 years of experience, an Associate's degree, or a relevant Technical certificate/degree.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required within one month of starting.
• For your primary credential, you need one of the following from this list before you start or within six months if noted as board eligible.

Required Credentials (One of these):

• Registered Cardiographic Tech specializing in Vascular Interpretation from CCI (required prior to start).
• Registered Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography from ARRT (required prior to start).
• Registered Radiologic Technologist specializing in Vascular Sonography from ARRT (required prior to start).
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer from ARDMS (must be board eligible upon hire; credential required within 6 months).
• Registered Medical Sonographer from ARDMS (must be board eligible upon hire; credential required within 6 months).
• Registered Sonography Tech specializing in Cardiac from CCI (required prior to start).
• Registered Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography from ARDMS (must be board eligible upon hire; credential required within 6 months).
