The Role
This is a nursing position inside the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at MedStar Health in Baltimore, MD. You'll care for both out patients and in patients who are undergoing minimally invasive cardiac procedures that use imaging guidance. The unit has 11 cardiac catheterization procedure labs, plus pre- and post procedure holding areas. Around 19,000 interventional heart procedures happen here every year, including percutaneous valve repairs, and more than 1,800 open heart surgeries. The Jesse Ball DuPont Fund has recognized Washington Hospital Center as one of the busiest cardiac catheterization programs in the country.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families for everything from routine needs to highly complex situations. You'll assess how each patient's condition is changing over time, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop care plans that fit the situation. Interventions might be delivered directly by you, or you might coordinate them through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.
What You Bring
- An ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
- Prior clinical nursing experience in Cardiac ICU or Cardiac Procedural is required.
- You must have an active DC RN License.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers is required, from either AHA or American Red Cross.
Compensation
The hiring range for this position is USD $41.37 to USD $70.34 per hour.
