
About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this night shift X Ray Tech role at Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, TX. It's a full time gig, Monday through Thursday from 9pm to 7:30am. There's a sign on bonus on the table, which is always a nice way to start.
What you'd be doing
You'll be the one capturing the diagnostic images that help doctors figure out what's going on with their pediatric patients. Your main focus is producing clear, accurate X rays while providing safe and compassionate care to kids.
- Prepare and position pediatric patients for imaging procedures, monitoring them throughout to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Administer contrast media when needed, keeping a close eye on how patients respond and reporting anything unusual to the physician or care team right away.
- Strictly follow radiation safety protocols and quality standards. You're there to minimize exposure and keep the equipment running correctly.
- Get those images documented and uploaded into the PACS and Electronic Health Records systems promptly. It's a key part of keeping everyone on the same page for patient care.
The must haves for this job
You need specific credentials and some experience under your belt. Here’s exactly what they're looking for.
- A High School diploma plus 2 years of relevant experience, an Associate’s/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable job specific experience.
- Your ARRT (R) registration as a Radiologic Technologist in Radiography is required before you start.
- You also need your Texas state license (General Practice) from the Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program before your hire date.
- A BLS Provider certification is required, but you can get it within your first month if you don't have it yet. They accept it from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
