Senior Accounting Specialist
Atlas Energy Solutions is looking for a Senior Accounting Specialist to work out of our headquarters in Austin, TX. This role sits inside our Accounting and Finance group, right where our commercial and industrial power business and M&A activity are growing fast. You will lead project work, dig into technical accounting questions, own revenue recognition duties, and support due diligence efforts. It is a hands on position backed by a strong team.
Compensation and Schedule
Pay range is $90,000 to $100,000 with a 10% yearly bonus opportunity. This is an onsite role, Monday through Friday, in Austin, TX.
What You Will Do
- Oversee accounting procedures for our commercial and industrial power business and mergers and acquisitions; this includes opening balance sheet analysis, aligning parent and target accounting policies, revenue recognition, ASC 842 leases, asset retirement obligations, accrual procedures, pro forma financial statements, and consolidations.
- Perform in depth research on complex debt and equity transactions.
- Analyze significant contracts for ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 842 lease considerations, and remediation liabilities.
- Assist with due diligence during mergers and acquisitions.
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and other internal and external parties to ensure proper documentation of transactions.
- Contribute to financial month end close activities, including review and approval of journal entries.
- Communicate and work with the company's external auditors.
- Draft and maintain Sarbanes Oxley control documentation related to mergers, acquisitions, and complex financial transactions.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor of Science or BBA/MPA in Accounting (or equivalent). An MBA is a plus.
- You are a CPA with 3 to 6 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
- Public accounting or public company/IPO experience is preferred; experience in Power, Oil & Gas, or Mining is also a plus.
- You are proficient with large ERP systems and Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
- You have a comprehensive understanding of authoritative accounting guidance and SEC rules and regulations.
- Strong US GAAP experience is required.
