What you'll actually be doing at Homesense in Austin, TX
At Homesense, you're the person customers remember. Every shift is different, but your main job is making sure people leave happier than when they walked in. You'll greet shoppers, help them find what they're looking for, and keep the store looking sharp.
- Engage with every customer who comes through the door. That's not optional ; it's how we do business.
- Ring up purchases and handle returns accurately. Count change back by hand like a pro.
- Talk up our credit card and loyalty programs. It's a quick ask that makes a difference.
- Follow our merchandising standards to keep shelves stocked and displays looking right.
- Process new merchandise and get it onto the sales floor quickly.
- Tackle store recovery throughout the day ; straightening racks, folding clothes, tidying up.
- Keep the whole store clean and organized. Not just your section; every corner of it.
- Work with loss prevention practices to help reduce shrink (that's retail speak for theft or misplaced stuff).
- Stay alert about safety and help maintain a safe environment for everyone.
- Give and receive feedback openly. We believe in helping each other get better.
- Follow all labor laws, policies, and procedures to the letter. You might be cross trained to work in different areas of the store as needed.Other duties will come up too ; that's just retail life.
