Here's the deal. We need a rad tech who knows their stuff and can handle the pace of a busy hospital. You'll be working nights, Thursday through Sunday from 11:30 PM to midnight.

What you'll do here

You're using x ray equipment to help diagnose and treat patients. Every day is different, but your core job is to produce clear images for the doctors.

  • Perform all diagnostic radiologic procedures, from fluoro and c arm work to tomography and portables.
  • Your judgement matters. You'll assess each patient's condition to ensure a successful exam.
  • Getting the technique right is on you, making adjustments to get an optimal study every time.
  • You're checking physician orders before starting and flagging any issues with the Senior Tech or Radiologist.
  • Patient care doesn't stop when the machine starts. You're providing support and ensuring safety throughout the entire procedure.
  • A big part of this is communication. You'll explain things clearly to patients at a level they understand.
  • The job involves assisting radiologists with procedures, which sometimes means maintaining a sterile field.
  • You'll prep patients for exams and make sure you're using the right markers and IDs on every image.

The experience you need

This isn't an entry level gig. We need someone who's been in the trenches of acute care.

  • Two years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in an acute care setting is required.
  • You must be a graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program.
  • Candidates need current certification as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) with the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
  • A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
  • The role requires certification in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT, (R)).

The schedule & location

The shift is Thursdays through Sundays, 11:30 PM to 12:00 AM (midnight). This position is based at St. David's Medical Center in Austin, TX.
