About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this Quality Technician spot we're filling in Austin, TX. It's not a desk job. You'll be on the floor in the warehouse, sleeves rolled up, making sure things run right. The pay is $26.00 an hour.
What you'd be doing
Your main focus is keeping quality tight across the board. That means getting hands on with materials and components to prevent problems before they start.
- Inspect parts and materials coming in and going out of distribution centers here and in Canada.
- Do on site checks to support product uptime and reliability.
- When something isn't right, you're the one to flag it, document it, and manage that non conforming material through the process.
- Work directly with suppliers and different internal teams to get issues resolved.
- Use structured methods, like 8D reports, to support corrective actions.
- Keeping quality systems and inspection records accurate is a big part of the day.
- You'll oversee quarantine areas and help with inventory control.
- A lot of partnering happens here; with operations folks, repair centers, and safety teams.
- And you've got an eye for safety; identifying and reporting any health, safety, or environmental risks during daily activities is part of the role.
The background we need
We're looking for someone who's been in the trenches doing this kind of work for a few years. You know what good looks like because you've seen it up close.
- You have 3 to 5 years of experience in quality inspection.
- A strong understanding of technical drawings and knowing exactly what to look for during an inspection is essential.
- Experience working in a distribution center or a manufacturing setting would be great.
- You're familiar with SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
- Knowledge of ISO standards; 9001, 14001, 45001; is needed for this role.
- A technical or associate degree is ideal. But if you've got equivalent hands on experience that taught you the ropes, that works too.
The way you work
The specifics matter here. It's about how you approach the work as much as what you know.
- The details don't slip past you. Your documentation is thorough because it has to be.
- You don't just find problems; you think ahead to solve them. An analytical mindset helps here.
