What you'd be doing

You're the RN in the room, the one managing the whole nursing care picture for a patient from start to finish. It's a split role; you'll handle both scrub and circulating duties.

• On scrub, you're selecting and handling all the instruments and supplies for the procedure.
• On circulate, you're monitoring and recording the patient's condition, communicating with the team, and overseeing all the nursing care before, during, and after surgery.
• You'll directly assist the surgeon with tasks like hemostasis, suturing, and providing wound exposure.
• A big part of your day is prepping the ORs, making sure all the surgical instruments and equipment are ready to go.

What you need to bring

The requirements are non negotiable here. They need to see these credentials before anything else moves forward.

• An Indiana RN license is required before your hire or transfer date.
• You also need one or more of these certifications: Advanced Life Support (obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer) or BLS Provider (obtained within 1 month of hire/transfer). The American Heart Association or American Red Cross are accepted for both.
• For education: a diploma from an accredited nursing school/college is required. Or, you can have your required professional licensure at the time of hire.
