Job Overview

This role puts you right in the middle of the action at a manufacturing or warehouse facility in Austin, TX. You'll handle raw materials, operate basic machinery, and keep production lines moving. It's hands on work that requires focus ; you're not just standing around watching things happen. The environment can be loud and fast moving, but you'll have clear direction and a team around you.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate production equipment: You'll run machines like conveyor belts, packaging tools, or assembly line stations. Basic training is provided on each piece of gear.
  • Move materials: Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly as you unload trucks or stack finished goods. Carts and forklifts help with heavier loads.
  • Inspect products: Check items for defects, measure dimensions against specs, and remove anything that doesn't pass quality standards.
  • Keep the workspace clean: Sweep floors, wipe down equipment, and dispose of waste materials to prevent safety hazards.
  • Follow safety protocols: Wear required PPE (hard hats, gloves, steel toed boots) and report any unsafe conditions immediately.

Requirements

  • Physical stamina: You'll be on your feet for full shifts ; walking, bending, reaching, and lifting repeatedly. Standing for 8 10 hours is normal.
  • Situational awareness: Spotting problems before they cause delays matters more than having years of experience. Good judgment counts.
  • Able to read work orders: Basic English literacy needed for labels and instructions. Numeracy for counting parts or filling logs.
  • Tolerance for varied temperatures: Factories aren't climate controlled everywhere ; some areas get hot in summer and cold in winter.
