The Job
St. David's Hospice & Family Care is looking for a PRN Hospice Registered Nurse for Austin, TX. This is a role where your clinical skill meets real human need. You'll be part of a care team that includes physicians, nurses, therapists, hospice aides, social workers, music therapists, spiritual counselors, volunteers, and bereavement specialists. It's not about checking boxes ; it's about making sure patients and families get the physical, emotional, and spiritual support they deserve, whether they're at home, in a skilled nursing center, an assisted living community, or a hospital.
What You'll Actually Do
- Follow the plan of care, provide treatments, and collaborate with the team to help reach positive patient care outcomes
- Provide direct patient care as defined in the State Nurse Practice Act, including specialized duties related to end of life care
- Participate in coordinating hospice services and report identified needs to the interdisciplinary group ; that includes the Hospice Aide, Director of Clinical Services – Hospice, and Chaplain
- Manage pain and symptoms appropriately to keep patients comfortable
What You Need to Bring
- An Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of nursing experience ; required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 15 days of your start date
- A valid Registered Nurse license and a Driver License
- No travel required for this role
