About This Role
Hey there. We're Carus Dental South Central in Austin, TX, and we need a part time hygienist for three days a week. It's a specific schedule, so if it lines up with your life, this could be a really good fit.
The Schedule & The Offer
You'd work Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and Wednesday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. We have a quick team huddle at 8:15 each morning. It's steady and predictable.
We're offering a $3,000 welcome bonus for joining the team.
What You'd Do Here
You're the core of the patient care experience. This means building real connections, not just cleaning teeth. You'll have the time to do it right.
- Provide thorough hygiene procedures and patient education.
- Conduct dental screenings and document medical histories accurately.
- Use our modern tech; things like Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanners, digital x rays, and electronic records are part of the daily workflow.
- Work within an eight person team that actually talks to each other and collaborates.
The Support Behind You
This office is supported by Heartland Dental. That sounds corporate, but here’s what it actually means for you day to day: you get to focus purely on clinical care while they handle the administrative heavy lifting.
- A dedicated Hygiene mentor program for 1:1 support.
- A huge network of peers and experts across the country to tap into.
- Top tier supplies and lab support so you can deliver great care without hassle.
- Serious investment in continuing education to help you grow your skills on our dime.
What You Need to Bring
A few non negotiables:
- A current Texas dental hygienist license.
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene where required.
- CPR Certification.
- A solid working knowledge of dentistry and hygiene protocols.
- The ability to pass a tuberculosis (TB) test as part of our pre employment process; we'll handle arranging it.
A couple things that would be great, but aren't deal breakers:
- Experience with the specific tech we use (digital scanners, Velscope, etc.).
- A genuine desire to keep learning clinically. New grads are absolutely welcome; it says zero years of experience is fine by us.
The Physical Side of Things
It's a clinical job. You'll be on your feet, you'll be seated for periods, and you need to be able to lift up to 45 pounds occasionally. We'll make reasonable accommodations if needed; just let us know what you require.
