Clinical Research Associate I โ Mental Health Studies
Dell Medical School is looking for a Clinical Research Associate I for two mental health studies based in Austin, TX. This is a grant funded position that runs through August 31, 2027.
One study looks at how a traumatic event affects a child's mental health. The other focuses on the cognitive impact of early psychosis in adolescents and young adults who are within two years of their diagnosis. You'll conduct interviews and help manage the research projects.
What you'll do
- Make sure the studies comply with protocols and regulatory requirements. Manage site performance and solve problems as they come up.
- Conduct participant interviews. Enter data accurately and on time into electronic data capture systems. Review and resolve data queries.
- Follow Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Council for Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines. Handle IRB applications, submissions, and updates across multiple sites. Prepare and maintain regulatory documents. Work with ethics committees to protect participant rights.
- Coordinate with clinical partners to find eligible participants. Help screen, enroll, and get consent from study participants. Keep in touch with participants to make sure they stay in the study. Address their questions and concerns.
- Prepare study reports and documentation. Keep accurate records of all study activities. Help with manuscripts and publications.
Additional duties
- Conduct literature reviews to support study design and protocol development.
- Help train new site staff and research team members.
- Take part in internal and external audits.
- Support the development of study protocols and case report forms.
- Attend conferences and workshops to stay current.
- Adhere to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Perform related duties as needed.

Qualifications
Required: A Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, public health, or a related field. At least one year of experience in clinical research. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred: A Master's Degree in psychology, social work, public health, or a related field with at least two years of clinical research experience. Experience working with children, adolescents, and young people who have a mental health condition. Fluent in Spanish. Certified Clinical Research Associate (CCRA) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP).
Salary range
$40,000+ depending on qualifications.
