About This Role
CAD Designer / Drafter
This role is with Manpower's client, an industry leader in aerospace, defense, and government solutions. You'd be working inside their Engineering Support Department, helping on custom engineering projects ; the kind where precision matters and every drawing has a purpose.
What you'll do
- Work directly with engineering teams to nail down system and structural requirements before any design work starts
- Create detailed mechanical drawings and designs using CAD software (you'll be in CREO a lot)
- Generate Bills of Materials that manufacturing and assembly teams can actually use
- Design and model mechanical system components for test and measurement solutions
- Travel when the project needs it ; up to 25% of the time, both domestically and internationally
What you need
You're going to need a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics. No shortcuts there. On top of that, at least 5 years of relevant industry experience in mechanical drafting.
- 3 to 5 years of hands on CREO proficiency is required
- You should have a solid understanding of mechanical design principles and the processes that make them work
- Experience with 2D and 3D design tools ; CREO, Pro/E, or SolidWorks
Pay and shift
Pay goes up to $32 an hour. It's a 1st shift position, Monday through Friday.
