Psychiatric RN

Clarvida·Atlanta, GA

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this RN Team Lead position. It's a community based role in the Atlanta, GA area, and it's a bit of a hybrid job. You're providing direct psychiatric nursing care to adults, but you're also the one overseeing and supporting the other RNs on your team. If you like clinical work but also get energy from helping your colleagues grow, this could be a solid fit.

What You'll Be Doing

The day to day splits pretty evenly between leadership tasks and hands on client care. You're supervising the nursing staff, which means running their supervision sessions, handling their timecards and performance reviews, and jumping in to cover client visits when needed. A big part of it is training; you'll be the go to person for educating staff on medication management and new procedures.

  • Supervise RN staff and oversee all nursing services in the program.
  • Lead individual and group supervision, plus facilitate monthly RN meetings.
  • Handle onboarding, training, and ongoing support for your nursing team.
  • You'll approve time off requests, complete performance evaluations, and manage any necessary corrective actions.
  • Provide direct client care: conducting assessments, following prescriber plans, and administering medications (including injections).
  • Complete monthly medication reviews for your assigned clients.
  • Link clients with outside medical providers and follow up on prescriptions.
  • Consult regularly with prescribers and collaborate with the whole treatment team on care plans.
  • You'll need to travel within the community to see clients.

The Essentials You Need

We need someone who's been around the block in psych nursing. The paperwork side is non negotiable; we can't move forward without these licenses in hand. And you've got to be comfortable behind the wheel; this job happens out in the community.

  • A current, active Registered Nurse license in Washington State.
  • A valid Washington driver's license and active auto insurance are mandatory.
  • At least three years of psychiatric nursing experience under your belt.
  • Within that experience, we need at least one year focused on psychiatric nursing training with solid knowledge of psychotropic meds.
  • The role calls for strong clinical judgment, good organizational habits, and clear communication skills.
  • You should be proficient with basic computer tasks.
  • A collaborative spirit is key; you're leading a multidisciplinary team here.

It'd Be Great If You Also Had...

These aren't deal breakers, but if you have them, you'll likely hit the ground running faster. Experience with specific populations or settings really helps in this community based work.

  • A background working with severely and chronically mentally ill populations is a huge plus.
  • Previous work in community clinics or residential treatment settings is preferred.
