About This Role

The Role

This Production Worker role is based in Atlanta, GA and sits within Cargill's Food Enterprise. That's the side of the business that works with food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers, supplying everything from poultry and beef to oils, starches, and chocolates. It's a full time job with first shift hours, paying $22.00 an hour, and there's a $1,000 sign on bonus attached to it.

What You'll Actually Do

You'll work across a few different areas in the facility. The core of it involves operating processes like mixing, filling, and stacking materials. Beyond that, you'll handle the physical side of dumping, pulling, and stacking materials. You'll also operate a forklift, shrink wrapping machines, and other mechanical equipment. There's computer work too; you'll enter data into SAP and keep up with required process documentation. You'll make product labels accurately. You'll assemble and disassemble equipment as needed, and you'll handle your area's sanitation duties. Customer service is part of it ; you'll be engaging with your team members. And of course, you'll follow all safety, food safety, and operating standards. Everything else they need you to do that pops up, that's in scope too.

What You Need to Bring

  • The right to work in the U.S. on your own. This can't be based solely on a student visa or a third party sponsored visa.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to work in a production facility.
  • The physical stuff: bending, lifting up to 50 pounds repetitively, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting. We'll work with you on reasonable accommodations.
  • You'll be in varied environments ; heat, cold, dust, loud noise ; with personal protective equipment including a respirator.
  • You need to be comfortable working in elevated areas, 4 feet and above.
  • You have to understand and communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Overtime is part of it, and that means weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice.

What Helps

  • Production or food manufacturing experience.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, plus inventory or basic computer skills.
