About This Role
Oncology RN in Atlanta, GA
This is a contract position for an Oncology RN at a premier facility. You'll work five 8 hour day shifts per week.
The agency, Gifted Healthcare, is award winning and places clinicians across the country. They talk about the power one person has to make a difference in patient care, which I appreciate. Their stated mission is to help clinicians thrive by providing good jobs, benefits that start on day one, and support whenever you need it.
What you'd do
- Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients.
- Administer chemotherapy and other specialized oncology treatments.
- Monitor patient responses to therapy and manage side effects.
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians and specialists.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation.
The background you'll need
- A current RN license for the state of assignment (they'll confirm specifics).
- A minimum of 1 year of recent experience as an Oncology RN; they want this experience to be solid and current.
- Chemotherapy certification (ONS or equivalent) is required. You must have this credential in hand.
- A BLS certification from the American Heart Association is also mandatory.
The details & benefits
The schedule is five 8 hour day shifts weekly. It's a contract role through Gifted Healthcare's travel staffing division. Pay range is $1,900 - $2,100 per week. The exact figure depends on your experience and credentials.
- Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance: Coverage starts on your first day of employment.
- Life insurance: A policy is included as part of your benefits package from day one.
- 401(k) plan with company match: You can enroll immediately upon starting; they match a portion of your contributions.
A quick note from me
I've been placing nurses for over a decade. When I see roles that require chemo certs and specific unit experience, I know the facility needs someone who can hit the ground running. This isn't a generalized med surg float pool spot; it's for an oncology unit that needs its own protocols followed. If your background matches what's listed above; especially that recent oncology experience; this could be a very straightforward fit. The pay range is clear, and having benefits kick in immediately with a travel contract isn't always the standard, so that's a definite plus worth noting.
