About This Role
Our Urology team at Emory Midtown Hospital is adding another Nurse Practitioner. You’d be part of the broader Emory Healthcare system, which is an academic hospital network.
What you'd do here
You'd work under a physician's direction to help evaluate and treat patients. A typical day involves a mix of patient interaction and clinical procedures.
- Conduct patient interviews and document histories, including psychosocial background and health status.
- Perform physical exams and certain specialized procedures. For this role, that includes putting on and removing casts, suturing wounds, and changing dressings.
- Help physicians diagnose issues, develop care plans, and prescribe treatments.
- Order tests like urinalysis, blood work, pregnancy tests, or x rays. You'd also schedule them and sometimes perform them yourself.
- Document all care delivered in the patient's medical record.
The schedule & experience we're hoping for
This is a full time position working four 10 hour shifts per week. The schedule is daytime hours.
We really need someone with experience in urology. Having at least two years as an APP in this specialty is preferred. At a minimum, you need one year of direct experience in a high acuity clinical setting.
Non negotiable qualifications
- You must have completed an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- A current Georgia license as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Georgia Board of Nursing is required.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or an equivalent body is mandatory.
- For this inpatient role, your NP certification must be in Acute Care (ACNP or AGACNP).
- Current BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications are required. ACLS certification might be needed for some areas; we can clarify that during the hiring process.
A few of our benefits
The pay structure includes eligibility for an annual APP incentive plan. Your benefits start on your first day.
- Comprehensive health insurance from Day 1.
- Programs to help with or reimburse student loans.
- A paid parental leave benefit for qualified employees.
- Other family focused benefits and wellness incentives are part of the package too.
