Alright, let's talk about this job. I'm looking for a Service Technician in Atlanta, GA. It's not just about fixing things; it's about taking care of a place and the people who live there. You're the one who makes sure everything works and feels right.

What you'll be doing

You'll handle the day to day maintenance for an apartment community. That means you're the go to person when something breaks or needs attention.

  • Your main tasks are repairs and upkeep. You'll work on HVAC systems, electrical issues, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, appliances, and both interior and exterior structures.
  • A big part of the job is getting apartments ready for new residents. You'll assist with those make readies.
  • You'll also help out with preventive maintenance programs and any construction or rehab projects happening on site.
  • The community manager and service manager will help set your daily priorities using our property management software.
  • Keeping everyone safe is crucial. You'll identify any hazardous conditions around the property and report them immediately.
  • You're responsible for the maintenance tools issued to you and keeping them secure.
  • This role includes sharing on call duties with the rest of the maintenance team. That means being available for emergencies after hours, on weekends, and during bad weather.
  • You need to know safety rules inside and out, especially OSHA standards, plus any relevant local or federal codes.

The specifics we need from you

This isn't an entry level spot. We need someone who knows their way around a toolbox and can work independently after some direction.

  • You must have at least two years of hands on general maintenance experience.
  • A valid EPA Section 608 Type II certification for HVAC work is required. No exceptions on that one.
  • You need to be comfortable using a computer for work orders and our internal systems.
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but your experience speaks volumes.
  • You have to provide your own standard hand tools for the trade. We supply the bigger equipment.

The physical side of things

Let's be real: this is an active job. You won't be sitting at a desk all day.

  • You'll be lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • The work involves constant movement: walking, bending, stooping, crawling, climbing stairs and ladders.
  • You need full use of your hands for grasping and manipulating tools, plus the ability to reach overhead and push or pull heavy items.
  • You'll be working outside in all kinds of weather conditions throughout the year.

Schedule & Pay

This is a full time position where you're onsite at the property in Atlanta, GA every day. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, but your specific hours might vary slightly based on business needs. Some overtime will come up now and then.The big thing to know is the on call rotation. You'll share that responsibility with the team to cover nights, weekends, holidays; you name it.The pay range varies based on your specific skillset and experience level within our company structure across different markets.
