About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this job at Music & Arts in Atlanta, GA. It's a sales role, but it's really about being the go to person in the store. You're there to hit your numbers, sure, but you're also the face of the place for a lot of customers and teachers.
What you'd be doing
Your main focus is sales. You'll have personal sales goals, and the idea is to meet or beat them to help the whole store hit its targets. That means building real relationships with customers; musicians, parents, teachers; and giving them a great reason to buy from you.
- You'll promote our lesson program. It's a big part of what we do.
- A big part of the job is creating new business. Think networking with school music teachers, local churches, and community groups.
- Every customer interaction needs to be top notch service. We're talking about providing compelling sales presentations and building loyalty so people come back.
- The work isn't just behind the counter. You'll help with merchandising, setting up displays, and general store maintenance.
- There's a responsibility for store security too. That means being trusted with keys for doors and registers, plus your own alarm code.
- And like any good retail job, there are always other tasks that pop up to keep things running smoothly.
What you need to bring
We need someone who gets it. You don't have to be a virtuoso, but you need to speak the language.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Bring at least 2 years of relevant work experience with you.
- You need skilled knowledge of musical instruments and written music. If someone asks about a clarinet reed or where to find middle C, you should know.
The good stuff (besides working with cool gear)
Music & Arts started in a little house in Maryland back in 1952. We've grown a lot since then, but that focus on serving musicians hasn't changed. Here’s what that means for you:
- If you're a musician, we offer gig leave. Take time off to tour or play shows, and your job will be here when you get back.
- The benefits are legit: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance. A 401K plan with a company match. Mental health support is included too.
- You get paid time off for sick days, holidays, and vacation.
- There's an employee discount program (obviously).
- We also have tuition reimbursement options if you're looking to further your education.
