DevOps Engineer (Air Force Program)
Leidos is looking for a DevOps Engineer to support an Air Force Life Cycle Management Center program in Arlington, VA. This role is about doing real work on systems that matter. You'll guide the modernization of software systems by managing infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and software deployment across the entire development lifecycle for a large Air Force program.
We need someone collaborative and growth oriented who genuinely cares about improving application security and efficiency. Not just ticking boxes.
What You'll Do
- Work with development, operations, and security teams to integrate security practices into the DevOps pipeline for DoD applications.
- Help implement and automate security tools and processes within CI/CD workflows.
- Configure and manage security tools like static code analysis and dynamic application security testing.
- Participate in incident response activities and monitor security alerts and incidents.
- Document security policies, procedures, and best practices for development teams.
- Stay current on the latest security trends, tools, and best practices in DevSecOps relevant to DoD programs.
What You'll Need to Have
US Citizenship is required. You must have an active Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a SCI prior to your start date.
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- DoD 8140 intermediate certification or DoD 8570 IAM Level II certifications or higher.
- A solid grasp of software design patterns and programming languages.
- Experience with software development paradigms and technologies like change management, version control, CI/CD, and Agile planning tools such as Jira or Gitlab.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC).
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server.
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems, network administration, and networking protocols like HTTP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, SMTP, DNS.
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills. You should be able to create structure and order from unstructured inputs.
- You can work independently and communicate effectively with software development teams and customers.
What Would Make You Stand Out
- Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
- Experience administering physical and digital infrastructure in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Intermediate Azure certifications like AZ 104: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar certifications from other Cloud Service Providers.
- Experience with security tools and practices related to DevSecOps, including SAST, DAST, IAST.
- Experience with automated provisioning and configuration tools like Bicep, Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or similar.
- Experience provisioning and managing resources within IaaS/Cloud infrastructures like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of container security and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Basic knowledge of compliance standards such as OWASP and NIST, and DoD regulations.
- A genuine interest in continuous learning and professional development in cybersecurity and DevOps practices.
Pay Range
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00. This is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and applicable bargaining agreements or other law.
