Registered Nurse

Medical City Arlington·Arlington, TX

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Labor and Delivery RN spot on nights at Medical City Arlington in Arlington, TX.

It's a 435 bed hospital with a serious focus on women's services. Think luxury maternity suites and a team that's built a reputation in the DFW area. You wouldn't just be another number here; the place has over 1,400 clinical colleagues and nearly 700 physicians. It's the kind of shop where what you do matters.

The Work

You're the RN for patients in both the Fetal Diagnostic Center and Labor & Delivery. That means you're assessing patients, assigning acuity, and following the full nursing process from start to finish. You own your professional decisions here.

  • Screening patients and getting them ready for exams to keep things moving smoothly.
  • Your day might also include supervising other nursing staff or students.
  • A big part of it is teaching; you'll be the one explaining medications and treatment plans to patients and their families.
  • And of course, administering all medications per physician orders.

Every bit of care you give is tailored to the patient's age and condition.

What You Need to Bring

Let's be specific about the paperwork and experience. They aren't kidding around here.

  • A current Registered Nurse license from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. A compact license works too.
  • You must have your BLS for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Recent, acute care Labor & Delivery experience is non negotiable. At least one solid year of it is required.
  • Got two or more years in L&D? That's what they prefer to see.

Also, you need to be fully vaccinated for COVID 19 unless you have an approved medical or religious exemption. That's based on local, state, or federal rules.

The Schedule & The Offer

This is a night shift position, and you'll be working rotating weekends. Be ready for that rhythm.

The benefits package is… extensive. They call it a "total rewards" thing aimed at your health, life, career, and retirement. Here’s some of what’s on the table:

  • The medical plan covers a lot of common stuff with no cost or a low copay. It includes prescriptions, behavioral health, telemedicine, and even free AirMed medical transport.
  • You can add on dental and vision.
  • There's life insurance, disability coverage, and flexible spending accounts.
  • A bunch of supplemental plans: accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity.
  • Options for auto insurance, home insurance, identity theft protection, legal counseling, long term care coverage; even pet insurance and moving assistance.
  • Fertility and family building benefits are provided through Progyny.
  • Free counseling services for emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing.
  • Family support like adoption assistance plus child and elder care resources.
  • A 401(k) plan with a 100% match on 3% to 9% of your pay (the match amount depends on how long you've been there).
