About This Role
What you’ll actually do day to day
You’re the Clinical Nurse Coordinator for Ortho Neuro Days at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, AK. That means you’re the person keeping the unit running smoothly during your shift, working alongside the management team to make sure patients get the care they need and staff have what they need to deliver it. You’ll be involved in admissions and discharges to keep patient flow efficient and centered on their needs. You’ll also help assess the quality of care being provided on the unit, teaming up with subject matter experts and other managers to build an environment where collaboration and better outcomes are the norm.
When things don’t go as planned, you’ll lean on a patient first mindset and step in for service recovery. You’ll support efforts to improve engagement by putting nursing strategies into action ; things like employee rounding and hourly rounds. You’ll have a hand in hiring too, offering recommendations on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. And when issues come up around training, conflict resolution, policy compliance, performance evaluations, or discipline, you’ll recommend and help implement the right course of action. Scheduling staff, managing labor based on patient needs and productivity goals, and keeping inventory and supplies in check are all part of the role as well.
