The Job

This is a Cath Lab Technologist role at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, AK. They're offering a sign on bonus for qualified candidates, plus relocation assistance. You'd be working 12 hour shifts with varying call that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

What You'll Actually Do

You'll handle all the testing and therapeutics that happen inside the Cath lab. That covers a lot of ground:

• Cardiac catheterizations and coronary interventions
• EP device work and ablation therapies
• Interventional radiology
• Neuro diagnostics and interventions
• Endovascular procedures
• Structural heart procedures like LAAC and TAVR

You'll guide patients through every phase of their procedure ; transport, site prep, sterile setup, monitoring, and hemostasis after the catheter or sheath comes out. Then you get them back to their room. You'll also manage emergent cases when they come up.

On top of the clinical stuff, you'll keep patient records accurate and timely. That means completing all related paperwork and prepping tests for the physician to interpret.

Communication matters here too. You'll help make sure department staff stay on the same page using SBAR for hand offs. It's about keeping care collaborative across disciplines.

And when needed, you'll orient new team members.

The hospital has over 250 beds. Year after year it gets five star ratings for heart attack treatment, bowel obstruction treatment, and colorectal surgery. So you're not walking into some place that's figuring things out as they go.

Cath lab work can get intense fast. You need to stay flexible and organized when things go sideways ; because they will sometimes.

What They Need From You

• Education: An Associate's Degree in health science, natural science, nursing, engineering or primary science or being a recent graduate of an accredited cardiovascular program.
• Experience: Two or more years of full time invasive cardiology experience is preferred but not required outright.
• Certs:
• A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from either the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is required at hire.
• A current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from either organization is required within six months of hire.
• A nice to have: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification is preferred but not mandatory to start.
