• Deliver daily radiation treatments. You’ll position patients accurately on the treatment table, align them using laser systems and skin marks, then operate the linear accelerator to deliver the prescribed dose.
• Review and verify treatment plans. Before each session, check that the patient ID, field parameters, and dose calculations match what’s in the system ; it’s non negotiable for safety.
• Take portal images or CBCT scans. Image guidance is routine now. You’ll match those images to the planning CT to confirm anatomical alignment before treating.
• Provide patient support during sessions. Some people are calm; others are terrified. Your job is to explain what happens next in plain terms while managing their physical comfort on the table.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues. The machines are finicky at times. Minor alarms or beam interruptions need quick assessment ; you escalate what you can't fix yourself.
