Wound Care RN

The Role

Las Palomas Center needs a Wound Care RN in Albuquerque, NM to lead our skin health and wound management program. This isn't a bedside only job; you'll work alongside nursing center management to build and integrate a fully developed program from the ground up. You'll be the clinical expert for skin, wound, and incontinent products ; meaning central supply will look to you for guidance on what we stock and why. You'll also oversee durable medical equipment related to preventing and managing wounds.

What You Bring

You need an active RN license (we can also consider an MPT or DPT with leadership review). Beyond that, here's what we're looking for:

• A national accredited wound certification ; CWS, CWCN, WCC, CWON, WOC, or AWCC. If you don't have one yet, you must commit to completing Advanced Wound Training and earning that certification within one year of hire. (If you come in with your certification already, we'll put you through a fast track hybrid program for regulatory wound care requirements instead.)
• You'll complete Skin Health Team Lead orientation training and Wound Basics within 90 days of starting.
• A commitment to attend monthly support calls.
• Solid knowledge of clinical charting, incident reporting, and investigation response.
• A strong grasp of acceptable standards of care across nurses, providers, therapists, dietitians ; basically everyone on the nursing center team.
• Experience building teams and showing genuine respect for the interprofessional team when it comes to wound management.
• Working knowledge of national wound guidelines and wound products.
• Familiarity with nursing home regulations and the survey process.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, database management, and PowerPoint.

Schedule & Pay

The posted salary range for this role in Albuquerque, NM is $42.00 to $45.00 per hour. Your exact rate depends on factors like pay classification, job grade location, length of service ; plus any applicable collective bargaining agreements or state law.
