The Job

This is a night shift Warehouse Worker role at Shamrock Foods Company in Albuquerque, NM. The starting pay is $20/hour plus incentive pay. The average person in this position makes about $60,000 a year. Top performers earn around $70,000 annually.

Schedule

You'll work the night shift. Order Selectors start at 5:00 PM, Loaders at 7:00 PM. It's five nights a week with two consecutive nights off. Nights, weekends, and holidays are part of the deal.

What You'll Do

  • Read customer orders, check inventory, and pull items from shelves or bins.
  • Prepare orders for packing and shipping. You'll read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to figure out what needs to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other spots.
  • Fill requisitions and work orders for materials, tools, or stock items. Distribute items to production workers or assembly lines.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock. Place those orders on pallets or shelves, or move them to the packing station or shipping department.
  • Mark materials with identifying information. Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Record amounts of materials or items you distribute. Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to make sure they meet company standards.
  • Put together worksheets or tickets based on customer specifications.
  • Drive a vehicle to move stored items from the warehouse to the plant or to pick up items from several spots for shipment.
  • Prepare parcels for mailing. Keep inventory records up to date.
  • Other duties as they come up.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Fluent in English ; you need to speak, read, and write it.
  • Less than high school education? That's okay if you have up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You should be able to read a limited number of two- and three syllable words and spot similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
  • You need to be able to print simple sentences.
  • Basic math: add and subtract two digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10s and 100s, and use units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Apply common sense to carry out simple one- or two step instructions.
  • Deal with standardized situations where there are only occasional variables (or none at all).
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to work in different temperature zones ranging from -5°F to ambient temperature.

Physical Demands

  • Communicate when you need to get the job done.
  • Reach and handle objects, tools, or controls.
  • Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 100 pounds.
  • Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.
