Warehouse Order Selector

The Job

Shamrock Foods Company is hiring a Warehouse Order Selector in Albuquerque, NM. This is a full time night shift role, working 5 nights a week with 2 consecutive nights off.

Your shift starts at 5:00 PM if you're an Order Selector, or 7:00 PM if you're a Loader.

What You'll Do

You read customer orders, check inventory, and pull items from shelves or bins. You prepare orders for packing and shipping. You'll read production schedules and work orders to figure out what needs to be moved or gathered.

• Move materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other spots
• Fill requests for materials, tools, or stock items and get them to production workers
• Assemble customer orders from stock and put them on pallets or shelves, or take them to packing or shipping
• Mark materials with identifying info
• Open bales, crates, and other containers
• Record how much material or how many items you distribute
• Weigh or count items to make sure they meet company standards
• Put together worksheets or tickets from customer specifications
• Drive a vehicle to move stored items from the warehouse to the plant, or pick up items from different spots for shipment
• Prepare parcels for mailing
• Keep inventory records
• Other duties as assigned

What You Need

You need a high school diploma or GED. You have to be fluent in English ; speak, read, and write.

• Less than high school education is okay if you have up to one month of related experience or training, or a mix of education and experience
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers
• Can print simple sentences
• Can add and subtract two digit numbers, and multiply and divide by 10s and 100s
• Can work with units of American money, weight, volume, and distance
• Can follow simple one- or two step instructions
• Comfortable with standard situations that have few surprises
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work in temperature zones from -5°F to ambient

Pay

Starting pay is $20/hour plus incentive. The average person in this role earns $60,000 a year. Top performers make about $70,000 a year.
