About This Role

Del Norte Animal Hospital in Albuquerque, NM needs a veterinary technician. We're a four doctor, small animal practice that's been around since 1965 and AAHA accredited since 1968. It's a modern place, but it feels like home.

What you'll do here

You won't be stuck doing just one thing. You'll work directly with our vets and other techs during exams, treatments, and surgeries.

  • Safely and compassionately handling animals is the core of the job.
  • Getting exam rooms and surgical suites ready, then cleaning them up afterward.
  • Giving medications and running basic lab tests.
  • Talking with pet owners clearly and kindly is a big part of your day.
  • Our medical records have to be spot on, so you'll keep those updated.

The schedule & pay

We can make this work full time or part time. We need someone available Monday through Friday, plus rotating Saturdays.

The pay range is $16 to $22 an hour for every hour you work. They determine the specific rate based on your education, training, experience related to the job, and where the work is performed. You can ask for more details about that during the process.

If you've got three or more years of consecutive, current vet assistant experience, there's a $500 bonus package for you.

What we're looking for

You need to care about doing things right and keeping things organized. The days can get busy. If you're genuinely into animal care and like working with people; both clients and your team; you'll fit right in.

The good stuff (for full timers)

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance. There are HSA options too.
  • Life insurance and disability coverage.
  • An Employee Assistance Program.
  • A 401(k) plan.
  • Paid time off as outlined by our policy and the law.
  • A nice discount on care for your own pets.
  • A real chance to grow professionally with us.
