Social Services Director (Social Worker)

This is a leadership role inside a nursing center's Social Services Department. You'd be working out of Bear Canyon Rehabilitation Ctr in Albuquerque, NM. The whole point is to make sure every patient and resident gets the highest possible quality of life ; physically, mentally, and socially. You'll also be the person keeping things compliant with federal and state rules, plus the NASW Code of Ethics.

What you'll be doing day to day

You'd run the Social Services Department. That means you're accountable for the practice itself, the outcomes of your interventions, and how productive the department is. You might directly supervise two or more social services staff.

• Complete a psychosocial assessment for every patient/resident that identifies their social, emotional, and psychological needs and strengths.
• Make sure discharge goals are set at admission and documented. You assess each person for discharge.
• Train staff about the role of Social Services and the psychosocial needs of patients, residents, and their families. That includes the problems that come with aging and disability.

What you need to bring

You need a Bachelor's degree in social work or human services. That's it for the degree part.

You also need any certifications or licensures required by the state of employment to practice in long term care. That's not optional.

The pay and benefits

The posted salary range is $26.00 to $30.00 an hour.
