Behavior Technician (RBT) at Centria Autism

This is a job for someone who wants to make a real, tangible difference. You'll work one on one with children on the autism spectrum, using evidence based methods to teach communication, social, and daily living skills ; all while reducing interfering behaviors. It is not an easy job. But it is one you'll walk away from at the end of each day knowing you meant something to that child and their family.

What you will do

• Work directly with kids in Albuquerque, NM, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
• Use proven techniques to build communication skills, social abilities, and everyday life skills.
• Respond to challenging behaviors with patience and strategy ; kids can be unpredictable and sometimes confrontational.
• Stay active. This role involves standing, walking, sitting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and lifting. You might carry children or objects up to 50 pounds.
• Track progress and adjust your approach alongside your BCBA supervisor.

What you need to qualify

• A passion for helping children with autism reach their full potential.
• The patience and compassion to work through tough moments as part of a team.
• 18+ years old
• High school diploma or GED
• The ability to get CPR and First Aid certifications plus a Tuberculosis test (if yours is over a year old).
• A preemployment background check that comes back clean.
• The physical ability to move through various positions ; sit, squat, bend ; plus lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• You must obtain your Registered Behavior Technician Certification within 45 days of finishing onboarding requirements.

The pay range

$16 - $23 per hour. That range depends on your qualifications, performance, experience, seniority ; so it's not just one flat number across the board.
