What This Job Is

Ambercare, an Addus family company, is hiring Home Care Aides (HCAs) in Albuquerque, NM and surrounding areas like Bernalillo, Edgewood, Los Ranchos, Moriarty, Rio Rancho, Tijeras, Carnuel, and more. This isn't a nursing home gig; you're helping seniors and people with disabilities stay in their own homes. They need assistance with daily tasks so they can live independently.

The role is called "Home Care Aide - Core" and it's built around being on call 5 days a week ; at least one of those days has to be a weekend day. You'll work 40 hours per week total, with 20 hours guaranteed minimum. Your direct supervisor sets the schedule, and on your on call days you cannot refuse assignments.

What You'll Actually Do

• Call into the office every morning to get your assignment for that day
• Follow each client's specific care plan and report back when tasks are completed
• Help clients with personal care ; bathing, dressing, toileting stuff
• Tackle routine house cleaning, meal prep, and laundry as needed
• Drive clients to doctor appointments, grocery runs, and other essential errands
• Assist clients with self administering their own medications (you're not dispensing them)
• Keep your eyes open ; observe any changes in a client's condition and report them right away

• Good communication skills; you can talk clearly with clients and coworkers
