About This Role
This job is about keeping AAA members on the road
The Automotive Services Field Supervisor role at AAA New Mexico is a hands on position. You'll work with independent contractors who provide emergency roadside service to our members across Albuquerque, NM. Think of yourself as the liaison between the club and our contract stations ; making sure everyone's performance, appearance, and operations meet AAA standards. This isn't a desk job. It's 75% field work, which includes national travel, and 25% in office time.
What you'll actually do
- Visit contract stations consistently to review their performance and coach them on business practices, driver training, and operational improvements.
- Inspect station facilities, equipment, and driver appearance to make sure they align with Club Standards.
- Research and analyze station performance data to spot where they can do better ; then work with them on improvement strategies.
- Conduct mystery shopping trips and ride along with technicians. Your feedback helps them improve member service directly.
- Investigate member or customer service issues when they come up. You'll document them and work toward resolution.
- Monitor station coverage so response times stay on target across your territory.
- Put together formal business proposals recommending operational changes for contract stations.
- Collaborate with dispatch teams to ensure smooth delivery of service to members and sort out any area disputes that arise.
What you need to bring
- A 4 year college degree or an equivalent mix of education and relevant work experience.
- Five years of demonstrated sales or vendor management experience ; including managing work teams. That one's non negotiable.
- A background in developing recommendations and proposals, plus successful negotiation and complaint resolution history.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, including solid presentation abilities.
- You need real proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. No faking it here.
- Experience using Sales Force or Tableau is preferred ; it would give you an edge but isn't required upfront.
- It also helps if you've analyzed financial reports before, built cost benefit models, or worked with profit/loss statements. That kind of financial literacy goes a long way in this role.
The benefits that matter
- Medical coverage for doctors visits, dental cleanings, vision exams ; all standard stuff done right.
- A 401(K) plan where the company matches your contributions plus a pension plan on top of it. That's rare these days.
