Sandwich / Salad Maker

What the job is

This is a Sandwich / Salad Maker position at Panera Bread in Albany, NY. You'll prep and assemble fresh salads, plate soups, and make sandwiches. It's real ingredients and good food ; not a fast food assembly line. You're there to help make sure every customer gets a great experience.

What you'll actually do each shift

• Assemble a wide range of menu items while hitting speed and accuracy goals. Every order needs to come out quickly, correctly, and consistently.
• Stay informed about the priorities for the day. Keep a positive attitude even when things get tough, and adapt as changes come up.
• Finish cleaning and stocking duties on time so the next shift starts off right.
• Deliver warm, friendly service every time you interact with a guest.
• Keep your workspace clean and organized throughout your shift.
• Help build a culture of warmth, belonging, growth, and trust among the team.

Who this job is for

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• A basic understanding of food safety is required. You'll complete training on it. A Food Handler's Card may also be needed depending on local law.
• You enjoy working with food. Previous food service experience is preferred but not required ; they'll train you if you don't have it.
• The schedule requires flexibility: nights and weekends are part of it. Things change quickly here, so you need to handle shifting priorities without getting rattled.

The physical part of the job

• You'll regularly lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Standing and walking for up to 6 hours at a stretch is standard during your shift.
• The environment can get loud. You need to clearly communicate with guests and coworkers even when there's noise around you.
