Sous Chef

Job Overview

This sous chef position is for a hands on leader in a busy kitchen. You’ll help run the line, develop specials, and maintain quality from prep to plate. The role is based in Akron, OH, working directly with an executive chef to shape daily service.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee daily prep and manage inventory for your assigned stations.
• Execute recipes consistently and contribute ideas for seasonal menus.
• Supervise line cooks during service, stepping in to cook when it gets busy.
• Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are met without exception.
• Help with staff training and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.

Requirements

• A solid foundation in classic techniques; you know your sauces and knife cuts.
• At least two years of experience in a full service kitchen, preferably with some lead or supervisory duties.
• A food handler’s certification is required; a culinary degree or equivalent apprenticeship is a plus.
• The stamina to be on your feet for a full shift, handling hot equipment and lifting up to 50 pounds.
