Sheet Metal Worker

Job Overview

This is a hands on role for someone who likes to build things you can see and touch. As a Sheet Metal Worker, you'll fabricate, assemble, and install metal components for various projects in the Akron, OH area. The work ranges from HVAC ductwork to architectural panels and custom fabrication.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and shop drawings.
• Measure, cut, bend, shape, and fasten sheet metal using hand tools, power shears, brakes, rollers, and welding equipment.
• Assemble fabricated parts into larger structures or systems on site or in the shop.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality against specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to keep everything in safe working order.

Requirements

• Experience with standard sheet metal tools: notchers, punches, spot welders. A few years in a shop or field setting is typical.
