The Gig

This is a Multi Craft Maintenance Technician role on the night shift at Sheridan Brimfield, which is part of CJK Group. You'll keep the production lines running for catalogs, commercial print, and educational materials. It's a steady gig with a 12 hour schedule, a night shift premium, and real room to grow. You'll get paid training from day one, cross training on electrical and mechanical systems, pneumatics and hydraulics, and exposure to PLCs. Advancement is a clear path here, not just a vague promise.

What You'll Actually Do

• Set up and maintain bindery palletizer machines and other bindery equipment
• Operate Palletizers in the Bindery Department to complete operations and meet customer quality specs
• Know and follow bindery related specifications for every job
• Perform make readies (m/r) on Palletizers
• Read and understand job tickets, work orders, and all other documentation tied to each job
• Talk with your supervisor to coordinate daily schedules
• Use hand tools like wrenches, gauges, and tape measures
• Watch machine operations to catch malfunctions or figure out if adjustments are needed
• Do routine maintenance on equipment
• Tackle any other duties that come up

What You Need to Bring

• A High School Diploma or GED
• The ability to read and write English
• You can communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Basic math skills are a must
• Know how to interpret and use different units of measure and their conversions
• You're able to train and develop other people
• Troubleshooting comes naturally to you
• You're dependable, reliable, and take responsibility for your work
• You work well with others
• You're flexible and open to change when the situation calls for it
• You can follow instructions and make decisions on your own
• You're a self starter who gets projects and work orders done without being pushed
• You can handle 12 hour shifts

The Physical Side of It

You'll be on your feet for long stretches while setting up and running equipment. Expect to bend, twist, kneel, and squat pretty much continuously. You'll also need to lift up to 50 pounds from time to time.
